Interview with Frédéric Lamouroux, president of Montagnac AC

Hello Frédéric, we'll let you introduce yourself for those who don't know you?

I have been licensed and in the office of the association for more than 25 years now.

I was secretary there for many years, then assistant secretary and today, since November 13, I am the brand new president.

Can you briefly introduce your club?

TEAM MAC (Montagnac Avenir Cycliste) now has around sixty members.

Our club has long been at the top of the bill in many events. We have several departmental, regional, national and even world titles in various disciplines (road, individual or team time trial, etc.).

Today, we are losing a bit of the “high level” branch of TEAM MAC , and a new orientation will be given to the club with more conviviality and sharing between members: WE family bike, ride, etc...
Of course the club will always keep its competitive side, but on a different scale.</ p>

Otherwise, we generally organize a club outing on Saturday from the headquarters in Montagnac and another, unofficial one which is organized on Sundays on the club's WhatsApp conversation.

How is the season going at the club?

The season took place at the chaotic pace of competitions due to sanitary conditions.
We found checkered jerseys on all the podiums of the championships, both departmental and regional and even national in the various federations. One man, Diégo Soler, particularly distinguished himself by obtaining a 7th place in the World Time Trial Championship as well as a 2nd place in the St Johann World Cup in Austria. He also obtained a title of French team champion in Time Trial.

We also have a certain know-how in terms of organization.

We organize 3 events annually: in February the TOUR DE L'HORTUS, in March LA MONTAGNACOISE and in September the CLM DES VENDANGES.

How does the rest look? of the season for the club?

This year, our objective is firstly to recreate an atmosphere and lay the groundwork for what our club will be like in the future.

For 2022 our usual events are on the calendar but there will also be a new event in Bédarieux, not official yet, we are in talks with the municipality, as well as a large mountain bike, gravel and road bike gathering from the departmental cycling center based in Bessilles.

Finally, what would you like to say to the readers of the newsletter to make them want to join your club?

If you want to join a dynamic club, an organizing club with a certain notoriety, if you want to practice cycling in competition or simply in cycling, then our club is ideal for you. You will be able to participate in mass events or challenges such as LES 7 MAJEURS, LES CINGLÉS DU VENTOUX, etc… If you are ready to bring a good atmosphere by participating in the life of the collective, then you will be welcome at Montagnac AC.
