First launched over twenty years ago, the Antares has featured in almost every Grand Tour since. Reimagined with our innovative Adaptive padding, the Antares is ready to make history once again. Designed to deliver both performance and comfort, from road to cyclocross and cross-country, the Antares R1 Adaptive saves weight thanks to a newly designed 7 x 9 mm carbon rail.

3D printed padding

The 3D-printed Fizik Adaptive padding has expanded to the Antares family, creating the perfect combination for those who want exceptional and lasting comfort on a low-profile performance saddle designed to allow a more connected feel for optimal pedaling efficiency and power transfer.

Custom zonal damping

The evolution of digital 3D printing has allowed us to develop a new saddle without the constraints or limitations imposed by traditional production methods and materials. The adaptive saddle padding is manufactured by Carbon® using its revolutionary Digital Light Synthesis™ technology. DLS is an additive manufacturing process that uses digital ultraviolet light projection, oxygen-permeable optics, and programmable liquid resins to produce parts with excellent mechanical properties, resolution, and surface finish.

Lab tested, road proven

Thanks to Carbon® technology, biomechanics experts and engineers have an unprecedented opportunity: to design and manufacture multiple functional zones within the saddle , each one individually tuned for specific mechanical properties. Each of these key functional zones is designed for distinct cushioning and mechanical response, gradually and seamlessly integrated within the same padding. The result? A 60% reduction in maximum pressure thanks to improved weight distribution for increased comfort across the entire saddle surface.

Power transfer and pressure relief

The Antares is a low-profile saddle with a tapered transition from nose to wing that helps riders pedal efficiently in all riding positions. The 3D-printed padding provides a responsive, race-ready feel for a better connection between rider and bike. Thanks to this technology, we're able to incorporate a softer central area instead of a traditional cutout to offer better pressure relief without sacrificing performance.
